Our methodology is extremely comprehensive and stands up to scientific scrutiny.  When comparing our calculators to others in the market, it is important to note that Cleaner Climate takes an extremely rigorous and methodical approach to our GHG calculations.

We use the GHG Protocol, developed by the World Resource Institute with WWF, IPCC data as a guideline and then incorporate additional variables to ensure the accuracy of our calculations.  We include the effect of embodied energy, as well as taking into account the Radiative Forcing Index (RFI)  for our flight calculations. 

Cleaner Climate’s travel emission calculator’s display a high level of accuracy & detail and have specific co-efficients covering short/long haul flights and class of travel, type of car rented/km driven and type and region of hotel room.
